A Design Thinking space for Deutsche Bank at the heart of Berlin

Design Thinking processes are the key to solving complex problems, unlocking new ideas, and developing innovative products and services. And the focus is always on the needs of the customers and users.

With a view to bringing these kinds of innovations to life and making them more tangible and accessible, PLAYROOM first designed, planned and created a Design Thinking space for Deutsche Bank at its “Quartier Zukunft” future banking centre on Friedrichstraße in Berlin back in 2018. It was designed to be a space where employees and external parties with a particular interest could participate in Design Thinking sessions for free with guidance from trainers, initiate innovation processes and join inspiring methodology training sessions and workshops. Originally planned as a pop-up project for six months, it was such a huge success that the time frame was extended to 18 months.

At the start of March 2020, this partnership with Deutsche Bank evolved even further. Open co-innovation and co-creation were introduced to the Design Thinking space in the centre of Berlin. PLAYROOM developed a programme of workshops people could book onto, covering topics such as organisational design, co-creation and the future of work.
